England manager Sarina Wiegman has extended her current contract by signing on for a further two years with the Lionesses. The Dutchwoman, aged 56 present deal was due to expire after the World Cup next year, but this extended contract will now run until the end of Euro 2029.
Wiegman successfully guided England to a second straight European Championship title with victory over Spain in last summer's Euro 2025 final. This was the first time an England team, women's or men's, had won a major trophy on foreign soil.
The Lionesses are on the brink of qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil after beating Greece 8-1 on aggregate and now have a two-legged playoff against Ukraine to book their ticket.
