As the 2026 World Cup approaches, Thomas Tuchel's squad selection process is well under way and our World Cup Squad Tracker is where you can find what we at The Sixty Six feel is his most likely 26-man squad for the summer.
With form and fitness shifting throughout the run‑in, we will also bring you analysis of who is under pressure and who may yet force their way into Tuchel’s plans. In the first of these pieces, Phil Martin reviews two players whose performances in the first half of the Premier League weekend have strengthened their claims.
Bowen did not need a goal on Friday night against Wolves to underline why he is becoming one of England’s most dependable squad options. His influence was key. Two assists, constant movement up and down the right and the discipline to roll his sleeves up and do the unspectacular work.
Bowen’s biggest selling point has always been reliability. He runs when others jog, tracks when others switch off and delivers when space opens. In a West Ham side playing with more urgency and intensity than usual, he looks his best.
