Kevin Keegan's place in English football history is without question. As a player, captain and manager, he brought passion, charisma and excitement to every club he represented. Few figures have left a deeper mark on the English game.
Born in Doncaster in 1951, Keegan rose from modest beginnings to become one of the most recognisable footballers of his generation. His move from Scunthorpe United to Liverpool in 1971 proved transformative. Under Bill Shankly and later Bob Paisley, he became a central figure in one of the greatest sides English football has produced, winning league titles and the European Cup.
