As the sun beamed down on Marienplatz in Munich for an England match against Germany, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. I had that horrible, annoying feeling that we were being scrutinised.
I was with my mate Dev and my father, taking in the songs, feeling the atmosphere and literally living in the moment. However, the more I tried, the more I struggled to block out that feeling of having to look over my shoulder.
Was it the German police? I had heard some horror stories from other England supporters from years gone by who had suffered terribly due to inconsistent and partisan policing across Europe. Could it be the ultras from Bavaria, I thought? My mind shifted to previous disorder involving our neighbouring countries but, no, it wasn't that either.
