The Sixty Six understands that England’s long‑awaited Florida friendly schedule has taken a further turn, with Orlando now emerging as the leading option for the second match. An FA recce to the Sunshine State has pushed the city to the front of the queue with fans still awaiting final details.
The opponents and dates are set – New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June – yet venues and ticket details are still to be confirmed. For fans trying to organise travel for what is effectively the first leg of a World Cup summer, that uncertainty is understandably frustrating.
The FA had been weighing up multiple south Florida venues, but it’s understood that officials who travelled out recently now favour a second game in Orlando. The first game is still expected to take place in Tampa, though with nothing yet confirmed, supporters remain in limbo.
Matters have been complicated further by developments in Miami. Chase Stadium, initially considered a viable host site, is now set to be used as a warm‑up base by nations who came through the play‑offs. That has forced organisers to look at alternative options as they finalise arrangements.
