England’s World Cup warm‑up camp in Florida is edging closer, but many supporters are still waiting on crucial details that allow them to firm up their own arrangements. The opponents and dates are set – New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June – yet venue confirmations and ticket details are still to follow. For fans trying to organise travel as the first leg of a World Cup summer, that uncertainty is understandably frustrating.
There is a degree of clarity around the opener. Tampa continues to be talked about as the probable option for the New Zealand match, and that at least has given travelling fans something to plan around – although it is sensible to keep hotel bookings flexible. It’s a practical approach in the circumstances, and one that allows supporters to prepare without over‑committing before anything is officially confirmed.
The second fixture – England vs Costa Rica on 10 June – is more uncertain. Orlando was thought to be in the frame, but momentum increasingly points toward Inter Miami’s new Freedom Park Stadium. For a game of this profile, the timing would be ideal, ahead of a World Cup summer at a brand‑new venue part owned by England legend David Beckham. If the stadium is ready, it feels a natural fit.
Beckham says Freedom Park will be a world‑class home for major football occasions – a venue built to bring global events to Miami. It is due to open next month, and there is a feeling that a June England friendly makes sense. For travelling supporters, a Miami date would also offer a great venue, with excellent transport links ahead of the World Cup opener in Dallas, plentiful accommodation and a city that knows how to host big nights.
